Find Your Next-Season Style with our Autumn/Winter Palette

Autumn/Winter’s trends are all embroiled in deep colours and rich hues. We’ve embraced this season’s velvety tones within our AW13 collection with chocolatey ombre styles and opulent port mixes. Meet the two latest styles to be added to our new-season offering in our favourite transitional tones.

Your most-loved Kay Francis has had a seasonal update. Now available in a sumptuous port with contrasting detail, our Kay Francis grab bag is the perfect accessory to join you day-to-day. As the AW13 catwalks were painted red we’ve nodded to this bold colour trend with our wine-coloured interpretation. This look may be striking, but it is by no means dense - layer rich hues and pair your new Kay Francis with scarlet coats, burgundy coats and bordeaux blouses; this is an invitation to experiment with textures and compositions. Emulate the gothic trend with plush velvets, or opt for a more feminine outlook with delicate chiffon and lace. However you choose to step out in red, make sure it’s with Kay Francis on your arm for a look that’s bound to get you noticed this season.

Add an elegant touch to your accessories collection this season with our ladylike Jasmine bag, now available a chocolate ombre croc. Charm your way through AW13 with the much adored ladylike trend. Pencil skirts and cinched-in waists made their way down the catwalks, accompanied by structured bags dangling from the crooks of each model’s arms.  Don’t let this trend fool you, thought - this season’s lady is empowered - her skirt is slit or boldly printed; she walks tall in sky-high heels or with purpose in metallic brogues. A beautiful handbag may swing from her arm, yet it contains the essentials she carries with her every day. The Jasmine is sophisticated, yes, but it truly is an all-purpose bag that will see you through this winter and into next spring. The only question is - where will you take yours?

Be sure to show us your AW looks this season - share your #FiorelliStyle style snaps with us on Instagram and Twitter at @Fiorelli_Bags.

Trend Alert: Masculine vs. Feminine

If there was ever any hesitation over whether or not the masculine trend would be a keeper, recent London Fashion Week offerings have cemented this trend once more. For instance, this year’s Fashion Week saw edgy models saunter down the runway in boyish silhouettes, masculine style trouser suits and textured rain macs courtesy of British Designer, Richard Nicoll’s collection.

Nicoll is known for his androgynous approach to women’s fashion and enjoys taking traditional garments such as a shirt dress and reinventing it with innovative fabrics and textures as to create something completely new. The Designer boasts an A-list clientèle including the likes of Sienna Miller, Bjork and Diana Kruger.

However, there was another trend out in force this year; feminine fashion also came out to play with Irish Designer Simone Rocha’s designs stealing the show. Rocha’s appeal lies in her ability to craft chic pieces which walk the tightrope between sophistication and romance. The collection was a fusion of pearl beaded collars, studded socks and luxurious gold and baby pink hues.

Even the usually austere John Rocha lightened up with a collection which paid homage to femininity. Rocha is constantly striving to change his aesthetic and this year was no different as the designer presented his audience with floral prints, full skirted dresses and soft colours which were met with a positive, albeit surprised reception.

Scottish designer Jonathan Saunders also joined the feminine parade with exquisite poppy printed tea dresses, sheer floral shirts, purple peep-toe wedges and satin bomber jackets. Saunders’ free-spirited approach to women’s fashion won him brownie points this year as revellers oohed and aahed over psychedelic prints and hallucinogenic colours in every colour of the rainbow.

Here at Fiorelli, we are definitely on the fence between the two trends. While we are partial to the odd pair of masculine two-toned brogues and a structured blazer, we also like to indulge our girly side with soft prints and tea dresses too!

Our Jasmine bag in tan lends itself to both trends and can be dressed down to complement tomboy styled outfits or glammed up with a dress and heels, the choice is yours. Share how your styling yours with us on Twitter and Instagram at @Fiorelli_Bags - just tag your photos with #FiorelliStyle!

Discover Fiorelli's Celeb Fans: Molly King and Holly Willoughby

Here at Fiorelli, we always love hearing from people who love our products and seeing how they’ve incorporated them into their outfits. And of course, we’re always flattered to discover when that also includes some of our favourite celebrities too! Take a look at some of our celeb fans below, and how they’ve styled up their chosen handbags.

Molly King: The Pixie Clutch
Pop star Molly was recently spotted out and about at a party with our stylish Pixie clutch, which she teamed with a trendy black leather look dress, and injected a pop of colour by painting her nails bright red.

The stylish black clutch has a luxuriously quilted effect that can easily be used as to take your look from day time chic through to night time cool. It would most definitely add an air of sophistication to a sharp blazer and classic heels during the day, or inject an extra sleek vibe alongside your LBD at the cocktail bar Ă  la Molly King.

Holly Willoughby: The Marla Grab
Our Marla grab and style icon Holly Willoughby are a style match made in heaven, as her elegant style fits in perfectly with its classic look. Its luxurious croc embossed finish and sleek tote shape heighten the style stakes of any daytime outfit, as Holly proved by teaming it with a laid back oversized coat.

Again, the Marla is chic enough to make the transition from day to night, and great if you're the kind of girl who likes a roomy handbag for all of your bits and bobs. Holly could remove that coat and throw on a pair of heels, and she'd be outfit-ready for drinks with the girls.

How to Bag your Dream Job: What to Wear to an Interview

No matter what job the interview’s for, first impressions are very important when it comes to getting it right, so important in fact, that many employers even make up their mind about a candidate within the first thirty seconds of meeting them!

There’s no denying then that what you wear to an interview can have a real impact on whether or not you land the job, however, it doesn't make the task of choosing an outfit any easier. Luckily, the team at Fiorelli are on hand to offer interview tips and help you to decide what to wear to an interview with our monochrome Kay Francis bag:

Images Sources: Dress, Bag, Shoes

Do your Research
Separate yourself from the pack by getting it right. Do your research. A fashion forward outfit is more than acceptable if you’re going for a job as a Designer, and could even put you at a distinct advantage, but an orange and paisley clashing suit should be avoided in the corporate world.
This doesn't mean you need to shed all individuality, a memorable accessory such as the Kay Francis Monochrome Grab bag or a striking and tasteful necklace will give you presence without looking overdone.

Try on your Outfit in Advance
While it’s important to look good, it’s more important to feel comfortable. Try on your outfit a couple of nights before and practice your interview questions in front of the mirror. If you’re wearing a skirt make sure it doesn’t come up too high when you sit down etc. If you've not been able to secure much information about the dress code it’s best to opt smart.

Be Confident!
The main thing to remember is to wear the clothes, don’t let the clothes wear you – if you are uncomfortable it will not only show but make you feel self-conscious and distracted. Walk into the room with your head held high, if you believe in yourself the employer will be much more likely to believe in you.

Join us on our Journey through 25 Years of Fiorelli

To celebrate our 25th birthday, we're looking back on our rich style heritage. Join us on our most fashionable journey yet...

Have you heard the news? Fiorelli turns 25 this year, and to celebrate we’re looking back at our history. From styles from seasons gone by, to some of our most campaign images, we’re inviting all our Fiorelli fans to join us on our most stylish yet as we plot our milestones. Here is our story as told so far...

Our rich history begins in 1980 where Fiorelli is conceived as the brainchild of an Australian marketing guru. Later, it is born as ‘Standard City Equipment’, and tone for the next 25 years of handbags and accessories is set.

Jump to 1988: the fashion industry is booming, and Fiorelli officially launches in the UK as the Lunan Group buys the brand, ready for the discerning market. In-keeping with the latest trends of the decade, the 90’s saw the Biker Chic style immortalized in our advertising as ‘Fiorelli Hits the Streets’ for our first campaign. The black and white cityscape becomes a symbol of our heritage and Fiorelli quickly becomes an icon of London style.

In 2000, Senior Designer Lisa Wood took the Fiorelli brand in a new direction, drawing on her design experience as well as her own taste. From classic styles to bold colours, Fiorelli bags quickly became the must-have accessory of the London fashionista.

Follow the rest of our journey as we tell our Fiorelli story on Facebook and Twitter, and share your memories and #FiorelliStyle photos with us at @Fiorelli_Bags on Twitter and Instagram!

How To Get the London Fashion Week Look with Fiorelli Jewellery

If like us you’re caught up in London Fashion Week fever, you've also probably been taking a look back at last season’s offerings and wondering exactly what’s in store for this season.

So, with all of the Fashion Week excitement brewing, we've picked out three of our favourite showcasing Designers, and decided to talk you through their design signatures and how you can use our brand new Fiorelli jewellery range to achieve their looks. Accessories are always the easiest way to rock any trend or style!

House of Holland
Ramsbottom born Henry Holland designs for the typical London girl, but the appeal of his garments obviously transcend the capital's borders too. His design signatures trend towards bold, colourful, and irreverent. Our pink neon spike necklace is perfect for injecting a loud Holland-style statement into your outfit.

Burberry
Led by Chief Creative Officer Christopher Bailey, Burberry is definitely one of the most sought after shows that receives the most press attention, and of course it’s one that everybody who’s anybody wants to be seen at. The most booked models such as Cara Delevingne have all walked Burberry's runways in its typically British Heritage look with its iconic palette of rich creams and browns. Emulate that classic Burberry style with Fiorelli's Multi Chain and Disk Necklace

Christopher Kane
Kane likes to design pieces that can completely transform an entire outfit, and embellishment is regularly the focal point of his designs. So, transforming an outfit with statement jewellery is often key. Pieces like our Multi Chain and Crystal Necklace can completely change the feel of an outfit Ă  la Kane style!

London Fashion Week: The First Timers' Guide

Collections from the likes of Vivienne Westwood, Mary Katrantzou and Christopher Kane will be gracing the catwalk this week courtesy of London’s biggest style extravaganza; London Fashion Week is returning for its 29th run since it launched in 1984.

Back then the event was held in a West London car park and provided a platform for fashion giants such as John Galliano and Betty Jackson to break the mould. Nowadays, LFW is a world renowned event which has gone on to become a key player in the ‘big four’ fashion events alongside Paris, Milan and New York.

If you have managed to get your hands on a pair of exclusive show tickets for the first time, you’re probably wondering what to expect. If you haven’t had such luck however there’s a plethora of free Fashion Week related events taking place across London which are there for the taking. Read on for the Fiorelli guide to LFW:

What to wear to London Fashion Week?

  • You would be forgiven for thinking that LFW calls for tottering heels and sky high platform shoes. Think again. The cobblestones of Somerset House teamed with frantic dashing in-between shows and venues means that the majority settle on brogues or even trainers on their feet- flat shoes are all the rage.
  •  Despite LFW being held in mid-September, rocking up in a statement pair of sunglasses is practically a rule.
  • Outfit wise, the fashion train are likely to be coveting this A/W’s key trends: masculine silhouettes, plaid prints, grunge inspired boots and baby pink are all hotly tipped to make an appearance.

Who to look out for?

  • Cara Delevingne has taken the world by storm this year, but there’s a new face on the block. Scouted whilst out shopping, 17 year old Grace Anderson is the new model of the moment and has modelled for the likes of Chanel and JW Anderson.
  • Barbara Casasola is one to watch this year. This eponymous Brazilian newcomer is making her designer debut at fashion week with silky block coloured gowns and luxe evening wear.

What to do if you don’t have a ticket?

  • The team over at Secret Cinema have set up a pop up cinema screen in Covent Garden and will be showcasing fashion inspired films and snippets of catwalk shows and highlights for the duration of LFW.
  • Oxford Street is hosting its very own mini-fash week with industry talks from British designers and blogger style advice sessions aplenty, arrive early to avoid disappointment.
  • If you are hell bent on seeing your favourite designers' collection, most of the shows are now streamed live online so you can frow direct from your armchair without the hassle of craning your neck to peer through the audience - we’ll see you down the front!

What are you most looking forward to about LFW?

Discover some of our favourite timeless style icons

As part of our 25th birthday celebrations, we’re taking a stylish walk down memory lane by plotting a timeline of our most iconic campaign images. And all of this reminiscing has also got us thinking about our favourite timeless style icons from throughout the decades.

So, we thought that we’d let you join in on the fun by sharing a few of our fashionable crushes with you! Who are your favourites?

1950s - Audrey Hepburn
She was the epitome of elegance with her signature little black dress, delicately placed pearl or diamond frosting, and statement sunglasses. Although her look appeared simple, she was of course extremely well groomed.

1960s - Model: Twiggy
Every woman wanted to be her during the Sixties, as they emulated her wide eyed make-up and gamine style. She become known for her cute baby doll dresses and tiny shorts, as her skinny silhouette offered a refreshing alternative to the mainstream's typical style icons.

1990's - Kate Moss
She's been an international style icon ever since she burst onto the scene during the Nineties with an enviable fashion sense that has adapted to each new decade. During the Nineties, she flaunted those obligatory oversized numbers, and plenty of denim. Just look how much her style has evolved from then!

2000 - Sarah Jessica Parker
She solidified her style icon credentials thanks to playing writer Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City, and she’s known for her daring fashion choices whilst experimenting with bold colours, pattern clashes, and quirky textures. Who hasn't wanted to dress just like her at some point?!

2010 - Kate Middleton Ever since Kate Middleton engaged and went on to marry Prince William, the nation has been transfixed with her fashion choices, and we’re all more than aware of the Duchess effect. As soon as she’s pictured wearing an item, it sells out! She’s known for her mid-heels, clutch bags, and classic dresses. We wonder how her style will evolve in the future?

Throughout September we'll be sharing more of our stories from the past 25 years of Fiorelli - share you memories with us on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram!

Make a Statement: How to Wear Monochrome

From a plain white tee and skinny jeans combo to asymmetrical patterned dresses and bowler hats, if there’s one fail-safe outfit choice, - it’s monochrome! You only have to steal a glance at images of Audrey Hepburn’s iconic outfits in the 1961 film Breakfast at Tiffany’s to see that monochrome fashion is timeless.

Although the trend has been around for many years, we are still finding new and exciting ways to style our outfits the monochrome way, whether it be with leather sleeved jackets or colour blocking statement bags.

And as the impending change of season beckons, we thought it would be a fitting time to share some style inspiration on how to wear monochrome this A/W:

Image Sources: Fiorelli, House of Fraser, ASOS

Turn heads with art-deco inspired colour blocking. This look is a saving grace if you’re strapped for cash! Choose one item as the statement piece and style with plain accessories from your wardrobe for a head turning, effortlessly chic ensemble

Image Sources: Topshop, A Wear, OPI

Bring retro charm to the monochrome look with polka dots, indulge your quirky side with this wardrobe staple. Polka dots bring a sense of fun to the monochrome trend, but if you’re worried about resembling a Minnie Mouse doppelgänger simply embellish a plain outfit with a spotted hair accessory or nail varnish.

Channel your inner Hepburn or Monroe with Hollywood glamour for the 21st century. To achieve the look, pair an embellished black dress with sling back heels and a gorgeous clutch, like the Fiorelli Pixie Clutch or stand out with a floor length dress, pearl necklace and satin gloves.
