Fiorelli's Style Resolutions

With the new year upon us in a matter of hours, it’s time to make a change. A new year is a good time to update your look, but you don’t always have to start from scratch. We’ve picked our top 5 style resolutions to refresh your wardrobe in a snap.

1. Wear more power prints
2014 is set to be the year of the print - with the likes of Mary Katranzou and Henry Holland leading the way for graphic designs on the SS14 runways, there’s no better time to follow suit. Fall in line with ethereal prints with our winter floral designs, or go bold and strong with head-turning leopard. Our tip? Let the print do the talking and keep the shape accessory and the rest of your style minimal. Our mini Harper grab bag is the perfect way to work the look and make a style statement without overpowering the whole outfit.

2. Find any time to shine
Jewellery is a quick and easy way to update any look and take your style from day to night.   Choose bold statement necklaces to add a modern twist to a plain t-shirt for an instant cool factor. For a more elegant look, delicate drop-down earrings worn with a low, loose bun will give you effortlessly chic style to take you straight from drinks to dinner. With a whole host of treasures in our latest jewellery collection, choosing your new sparkling personality is easier than ever!

3. Stay chic at the weekend
Though it may be tempting to kick back at the weekend, we have a simple solution to keep your style looking pulled together at all times with our Agyness tote bag for perfect laid-back style. Big enough to carry your off-duty essentials and ideal for day-trips, this chic tote will be your companion for weekends to come.

4. Give your make-up bag a makeover
As we move into January, it’s time to detox as party season is well and truly over. If you can’t bear to see your favourite clutch bag make its way to the back of the wardrobe, give it pride of place on your dressing table as your new make-up bag. The perfect size for our beauty must-haves, we’re following Electra Formosa’s lead and using our silver Juliet clutch as a make-up pouch both at home and to slip inside our handbags this January.

5. Dress to impress, especially at work
If you’ve enjoyed time off during the Christmas holidays then the sound of your alarm clock will be even more dreaded than ever. Put a spring back in your step with office-ready style you can’t wait to wear, and give your workwear wardrobe a breath of fresh air. Our Harper laptop portfolio is the perfect size to carry gadgets and documents, while our spacious Paris tote says a look that means business. Whatever your work style, always tote it with confidence and get ready to get ahead in 2014!

Fiorelli's Christmas Eve Beauty Inspirartion

Christmas Eve is finally here and that means one thing - it’s time to celebrate! We’ve chosen our outfits and our handbags and heels are all lined up but we’ve got one thing left to decide on: our make up!

With so many gorgeous beauty trends hitting the the runways and the red carpets this year, we really were spoilt for choice. So, to make the decision a little easier and give you some inspiration, we’ve chosen our three favourite party-ready beauty looks to try this evening!

The Red Lip
The red lip is a classic beauty look that will never go out of style, but this year it was bolder than ever. From pillar-box brights as seen on Emma Stone and Kate Bosworth, to rich berry hues, tried and tested by Emma Watson and Jennifer Lawrence. One thing that our style crush Jennifer has taught us is not to be afraid of deeper colours, regardless of how fair your skin tone is - if you can wear it with confidence, the more berry the better!

It’s All in the Eyes
Ever since Cara Delevigne burst onto the scene with her impeccably bold brows, the beauty world has been obsessed with eyes. With Cara leading the brow army, we’ve also seen the comeback of the feline flick, courtesy of model Suki Waterhouse, as well as our ever favourite smokey eye with a modern update, using warm natural brown pigments, as seen on the runway at the likes of Tom Ford and Roksanda Ilincic.

Dare to Bare
An unusual choice for party make up in the past, but this season it’s all been about the au natural look. Just last week Adele was seen out celebrating, working the bare-faced look with a beautiful natural glow, and this is the signature style for the gorgeous Keira Knightley and radiant Kate Hudson. Our tip? If you want to create the barely-there make up look but can’t bear to put down the foundation, only dab a small amount onto any areas you wish to cover, before lightly dusting bronzer on the apples of your cheeks and adding a quick flick of mascara!

What's your go-to beauty look? Get ready with us this evening and share your Christmas Eve style snaps by tagging us in your Instagram photos, with @Fiorelli_Bags

Although you can get better acquainted with the Harper family in this post, we felt that our latest statement handbag deserved a mention here too.

With its neat lines, block colour design and elegant structure, the Harper is a truly modern piece for the 21st century shopper. Available in a variety of colours and patterns such as leopard mix or mandarin, you’d be hard pressed to find a more diverse new season handbag.

The definitive tote bag, Harriet combines refined chic style and functionality, creating the perfect accessory for work, play and everywhere in-between. The simple navy and tan colour tone with embossed logo detailing make this a strong contender for your go-to handbag of the season.

Bold is beautiful and this season we’re all about sun yellow, mandarin orange and turquoise colour pops. The Fiorelli Perry in Turquoise is one such example, bright and eye-catching, this bag is sure to make a statement, you’ll want to take it everywhere.

Top Christmas Sale Picks!

The only thing better than a shiny new handbag is a 50% off price ticket to go alongside it. We’re feeling generous this year and anyone in search of a handbag at a fraction of its original price is in luck. Bag a bargain, the Fiorelli Christmas sale is now on!

To mark the occasion we’ve whipped up a selection of our favourite sale picks which are all available to browse and buy online, don’t say we never give you anything!

Crossbody Club

We love cross body bags for their functionality, no more worrying about bag straps falling off your shoulder when wearing too many layers, simply throw on and go. Ideal for chaotic commutes and sale shopping.

Our favourite cross body bags in the sale are the Fiorelli Gemma Satchel inPort and the Fiorelli Rosie Cross Body available in tan and black.

Grab and Go

The Fiorelli Jasmine grab is the ideal grab bag for all your on-the-go needs. It comes complete with 3 spacious compartments which are handy for transitional occasions such as a post work cocktail or weekend journey. Store your daily essentials in one section of your handbag and a pair of heels in the other for that after work drink, or simply use the bag to store all your January sale buys.

At £32.50, this handbag is a snip of its original price leaving more in the budget to spend at the rest of the sales, what’s not to love?

It’s a Tote Thing

The Joey Lauren Tote in Black is the need-right-now accessory for all your casual cool, on-the-run needs. The perfect accompaniment to an all-black outfit and roomy enough to store all your most prized possessions.

Pop of Colour
We picked these accessories for their vibrant shade of red which work wonders at giving outfits a much needed pop of colour. When it comes to the colder seasons, many of us are apt to make do with autumnal, earthy shades. With the Christmas season in full swing there’s no better time to embrace red.

Why not go one step further and match your handbag to your lipstick and shoes? All the bloggers are doing it. The Angel Gift Boxed purse in red is now reduced to £14 while the Lucinda Shoulder is available to buy from just £25. An affordable gift or treat-yourself bargain.

And there you have it, our favourite sale picks available to browse and buy online. To find out about more upcoming Fiorelli events such as promotional sales and offers, like our Facebook page.

Team Fiorelli's Christmas Cocktails and Canapés

Here at Fiorelli we’ll take any opportunity to enjoy a little indulgence, which is why Christmas truly is our favourite time of year! From our favourite tipples to nibbles to impress your guests, we’ve put together our must-try recipes for the festive season.

Ruby Duchess
When we spotted Nigella Lawson’s cocktail suggestions in Stylist Magazine earlier this month, we couldn’t resist testing out one of her suggestions, including this fabulously fruity glass of bubbly. Serve to guests as they arrive for a festive twist on the traditional Buck’s Fizz for an unexpected welcome!

Ingredients (makes 8-10 glasses)
1 x bottle of dry white sparkling wine, chilled
125ml of Chambord liqueur
500ml pomegranate juice, chilled

How-to
It’s simple and quick! Mix all of these ingredients into a jug and pour into wine glasses or champagne flutes

Non-alcoholic Cranberry and Orange Spritzer
Whether you have younger guests during the festive period, or just need to give your body a little break, this non-alcoholic Cranberry and Orange Spritzer is the perfect substitution and a tasty way around a boozy Christmas.

Ingredients
1 x cup of fresh cranberries
1 x cup of freshly-squeezed orange juice
Half a cup of sugar
Ginger, peeled and sliced into coins (optional)
2 x cups of sparkling water, chilled

How-to
1. Combine the cranberries, orange juice, sugar, and ginger in a medium pan over medium-high heat and bring to a boil.
2. Continue to boil until the cranberries begin to pop. Once the cranberries have popped open and softened, use the back of a wooden spoon to crush them against the side of the pan. Remove from heat and cool.
3. Strain the cooled cranberry mixture into a bowl through a fine mesh sieve. Discard the solids and refrigerate juice until chilled, about an hour. Transfer the juice to a pitcher and stir in the sparkling water.
4. Serve with cranberries or orange slices as garnish as you like!

Grilled Vegetable Skewers
Everybody knows that the turkey is the main event of any good Christmas dinner, so be sure that your canapés are light, and save those calories for the main meal. Don’t worry though, simple can still be delicious, as proven with our grilled skewers.
Our go-to canapé couldn’t be more quick or easy to make. Simply slide your favourite vegetables onto a wooden kebab skewer, such as red peppers or courgettes. For a teaser of the meal to come, add a little treat to the skewer too - we like to add a fig and feta cheese combination for a modern update on this classic party dish!

Team Fiorelli Share Their Christmas Plans

Christmas is one of our favourite times of the year, so everybody in our office is excitedly counting down until the big day. With only twelve days left, we can’t wait to spend some quality time with our families, eat as much delicious food as we possibly can, and of course, find out what lovely presents we will be surprised with.

If you’re wondering exactly how some of the Fiorelli team are hoping to spend the festive season and what they’re most looking forward to, we've found out their Christmas wish lists for you!

Sue Tebbitts: Brand Manager

What do you love about Christmas?
I love spending ages with the kids choosing the ‘right’ shape Christmas tree and then decorating it for hours.

What will you be giving?
For girlfriends, I’m sending Kate Spade accessories, for the kids, it’ll be iPods and headphones, and I’ll probably get the hubby a bit of Mulberry.

What are you hoping to receive?
I’d love a cashmere beanie and some good books.

Cecilia Child: Trade and Corporate Operations

What do you love about Christmas?
I love Christmas as it means hanging out with friends and family for an extended period. That along with the eating and drinking of course!

What will you be giving?
My husband has been after some tweed for a while, so, I will be giving him a peacoat from S.E.H Kelly.

What are you hoping to receive?
I love all things brogue, so, I'd love to get a nice pair of boots from Grensons.

Pandora Rice: National Accounts Manager

What do you love about Christmas?
I love spending time with all of my family and eating as much as I possibly can!

For the boys, I've not decided what to buy them yet!

Christmas Party Style Inspiration: Mollie King

We love to share style tips here at our office and we're always talking about something fashion related, so the Christmas party is naturally a big talking point for us! And as we're all looking for a little outfit inspiration, the fashionista on everybody's lips is Mollie King of The Saturdays. We love her girly yet sophisticated style... And that's not just because she's been seen out and about with one of our party clutches!

So, in our quest to replicate the singer’s style, we've created some inspirational looks based on a couple of her most papped outfits.

In this look Mollie is sporting a gorgeous up do which is comparable to the staple hairstyle of sixties French actress Brigitte Bardot (Mollie’s self confessed fashion idol), a leather shift dress and our signature clutch bag, the Fiorelli pixie clutch in black

Introduce a touch of feminine, festive sparkle to your Christmas party outfit by adding a shimmery peter pan collar and glitter nail paint.

Mollie's party look is given a seasonal update here, we chose a luxurious velvet version of Mollies sweetheart neckline dress which is so on trend for winter 2013 and added a deep berry lipstick and Fiorelli Perry shoulder bag for hands-free dancing!

How will you be styling your Christmas party look this year? Tag us on Instagram in your Christmas party outfit pictures with #FiorelliChristmas.

Behind the Scenes: Fiorelli's AW14 Shoot

While you may be grabbing the wrapping paper and reaching for the ribbon, we’ve got an early Christmas gift for you as we share some behind the scenes moments from our latest shoot for our AW14 collection.

Yes, you read that right! While we may have our current winter collection ready for your wardrobe now, we’re preparing to show the world what next year’s festive season will look like! From sumptuous quilted styles to bright raspberry hues, AW14 is set to be an unforgettably stylish season.

As with any fabulous photo shoot, we began the day with some hair and make up prep - our gorgeous models were primped to perfection with beautifully bouncy hair, and sultry and smokey eyes - a luxurious look that is embodied in the handbags themselves!

Next up was the wardrobe call, where our models were dressed to impress with fabulously chic style. Clean lines and bold designs were the order of the day, before each look was finished with a fabulous Fiorelli bag.

Within no time, the stage had been set and we were ready bright lights and action. Our ladies made it look easy, but handbag modelling is no mean feat - unless, that is, you’ve got a beautiful accessory to tote on set!

Sadly there is a little longer to wait until we can reveal more of the collection, but keep following us on Facebook and Twitter for more sneak peeks! In the meantime, we’d love to know what you would like to see from the next Fiorelli collection - from prints to colours, Tweet your style suggestions to us at @Fiorelli_Bags!

Work the Mini Handbag Trend with our SS14 Harper Collection

Everybody has that go-to day bag which they can’t live without. It’s practical in size and fits all of your daily essentials inside without compromising its style credentials. The one that you can wear with almost any outfit.

But there’s always one downside to your perfect bag, and that’s the fact that it’ll always be a tad too big to dance the night away with! Despite how on-trend or fashionable it may be. So, that’s where the mini handbag trend comes into force.

As part of our new S/S 14 range, we’re introducing the gorgeous Harper collection with the statement triple compartment shoulder (above left) and her mini grab sister (above right)! The easiest way to wear your favourite style 24/7.

Do daytime smart-casual with the Harper triple compartment shoulder by teaming with an edgy leather skirt, ankle boots, an on-trend fluffy jumper and a classic necklace.

Or do night time cool with our mini Harper grab by wearing with a pair of structured trousers, heels, and a chic blouse. It's the perfect size for all of your bits and bobs yet still small enough to hit the bars with.

So, what we really want to know is which style do you prefer? Tell us whether you'll be flaunting the full size or mini version this season and how you'd work the look on Twitter

Fiorelli's Festive Fun: Europe’s Best Christmas Markets

Be it a bratwurst sausage in Berlin or an adventure to London's Magical Ice Kingdom, it’s not Christmas until you’ve sipped some mulled wine from a wooden stall adorned with baubles. Start as you mean to go on this season by shopping ‘til you drop, nibbling festive fancies and drinking eggnog at Christmas Markets in London, Berlin and Copenhagen this 2013.

London

For the best Christmas markets in London, Southbank Centre and Hyde Park’s Winter Wonderland are a must. Head to Southbank Centre first to make your way around 80 authentic wooden chalets selling a wide range of gifts and delicious Christmas store cupboard treats including gingerbread hearts, eggnog, fine wine and cheeses.

Berlin

Christmas markets in Germany are renowned for being particularly lovely, after all, this is where traditional Christmas markets originated, and is the place where other countries draw their inspiration from. If Germany is the kingdom of Christmas markets, Berlin is certainly the capital.

With 50 individual Christmas markets taking place each year, you’ll be totally spoilt for choice in Berlin. The market at Kaiser Wilhelm Gedächtniskirche is the largest and such a hit with locals and tourists alike that over 2 million visitors frequent it each year in pursuit of handcrafted jewellery and Christmas decorations as well as gorgeous roasted chestnuts and mulled wine.

Copenhagen

Seeking an authentic Christmas atmosphere? Head to Copenhagen in Denmark. From mid-November, Copenhagen’s Tivoli Garden theme park turns into a vast magical kingdom complete with a grotto, Christmas market, Yuletide food and festive elves and pixies.

For the thrill seekers amongst you, Tivoli Gardens also offers an impressive ice rink, 100 year old rollercoaster and a whole host of theme park rides. A stunning Russian theme was introduced last year and provides the ideal backdrop for all those Christmassy Kodak moments.

Shopping in the City: Fashionable New Year Destinations

January means New Year’s resolutions, shiny new gym memberships and best of all, the beginning of the January sales- handbags at the ready, ladies! There’s few activities that can thrill a woman in the same way a 50% off price tag can, so, read on for Fiorelli’s guide to the most fashion forward New Year destinations.

The Big Apple

As Frank Sinatra once sang, “I want to be a part of it, in old New York’ this is perhaps the most desirable shopping location on the planet. Whether it’s a Brooklyn flea market for a rummage or Saks Fifth Avenue for a snoop at items we wish we could afford, New York is a retail paradise!

Cocktails in Manhattan are an essential for New Years Eve itself, sip a Cosmopolitan in the plush surroundings of Above 6, or venture to Bathtub Gin, an unassuming coffee shop with a glamorous wine bar in the back.

Off the beaten track:  Century 21 is home to major designer garments at a snip of their original price. Shoppers can expect up to 40% off on a regular day and the January sales are likely to mean further price hikes for the keen eyed bargain hunter.

Pop into The Cheesecake Factory for a mighty slice of red velvet or key lime cheesecake, it’s a must for anyone with a sweet tooth.

The City of Lights

The Eiffel Tower, melt-in-the-mouth Ladurée macaroons, and steak au poivre, it’s easy to see why Paris is such a fashionable travel destination. The shopping capital of Europe is packed with glamorous boutiques, patisseries and shopping districts which are irresistible to us fashionistas.

Begin your shopping tour of Paris at Le Bon Marché – the world’s first department store. This upscale retail heaven is just a 20 minute stroll from the Eiffel Tower and even if you find yourself window shopping, it’s worth visiting just to admire the impressive design. The Marais quarter is also a must-visit for eclectic fashion, fine art and the place to find one off pieces from up and coming designers.

NYE: You’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to New Year’s Eve party ideas. Witness the gorgeous Paris illuminations, hop aboard one of the many river cruises which run along the Seine river and boast free champagne, an irresistible 3 course dinner and dancing, or, find a prime spot at the Champs Elyssé where you can watch fireworks above the Eiffel Tower whilst sipping a chardonnay and observe well-dressed Parisians.

The Big Smoke

For the serious sale seekers, there’s no better UK shopping destination than London and whether you choose the area of Covent Garden, Westfield, Oxford Circus or Regent Street for your sale splurge, you’ll find an array of gorgeous shops and boutiques around every corner... And be spoilt for choice with the amount of luxurious hotels to stay at.

Accommodation: Stay close to the shops at San Domenico House – a beautifully furnished, Italian run boutique hotel or Dean Street Townhouse – decadent Soho accommodation bursting with cosmopolitan cool.

For a fashion-forward night out, head to Mahiki, Mayfair’s finest cocktail bar where you can quest your thirst for an alcoholic beverage by drinking cocktails out of treasure chests and sea pearls. Don’t forget to indulge in a spot of celeb spotting, Mahiki is a regular hang out for A-listers.

Are you a sale queen? Tweet to tell us about the best sale purchase you’ve ever made at @Fiorelli_Bags, and don't forget you'll be able to snap up a bargain from the comfort of your own home with our own January sale at Fiorelli.com - more details to be revealed soon!
