Our Favourite Red Carpet Trends from the Golden Globes

The Golden Globes are often considered as one of the biggest fashion events of the year as it sets the year’s forthcoming red carpet trends. We love finding out what our favourite celebs will wear, so it's an event that we have to have noted down in our calendars! Here are a few of its trends that we expect to see on plenty more red carpets this year.

With spring in sight, it’s the perfect time to pop out those sugary pastel hues. Amy Adams was the epitome of sophistication in her Versace gown complete with Tiffany & Co frosting.

Feeling inspired by Amy's look? Our springtime colour palette is awash with powder blue, blush pink and pastel lemon. Team it with some of our statement jewellery for maximum impact.

Emma Stone proved that you can walk the red carpet without pulling out a gown by opting for a Lanvin jumpsuit. It’s a trend that we saw upon the catwalks last year, and is a classic piece that never fails to make an impact.

Follow Emma’s fashion rules when opting for a party jumpsuit and keep your make-up neutral and forget the jewellery unless it’s simple.

Statement making red dominated the Golden Globes with many a celeb hitting the catwalk in the bold hue. Amongst our favourites was Heidi Klums’ asymmetric gown with elegant ruching and simple sequins by Versace. She completed her look with matching red lips and bold Jimmy Choos. The perfect combination.

Now, red carpet style isn’t red carpet style without a handy clutch. This year, it mainly trended between sleek and compact envelope purses to chunky box clutches. For red carpet season, we’ll be coveting our beautiful Penny clutch complete with its handy front faux bow design that makes it extra stylish to carry.

If you’re dieting it’s easy to become afraid of eating fats but as long as you’re eating the right kinds of fats, in moderation of course, it’s fine. Opt for avocados which contain healthy monounsaturated fats that will also keep you feeling full and melt away unwanted belly fat. – Bonus!

This is probably one of the easiest superfoods to adopt because it’s so versatile to use as day to day you can switch from your regular butter or olive oil whilst cooking. It gives your energy levels and immune system a boost, which is perfect for beating those winter colds.
It can also be used in plenty of sweet recipes too. Why not beat the January blues and treat yourself to some homemade honey and almond granola? Here’s our superfood recipe:

How to Detox your Wardrobe

A new year can only mean one thing, a new wardrobe! - Well, kind of. The beginning of the year is the best time to detox your wardrobe, which doesn’t necessarily mean buying a bunch of new clothes but instead making the most of what you’ve got. So, follow our tips and get new year wardrobe ready with Fiorelli.

Throw out the junk!
The first thing you should do whilst organising your wardrobes is remove anything that you’ve not worn for at least 16 months. Be it the wrong size that you’re realistically never going to fit back into or something that’s so out of fashion that it’ll never come back around again. Take them along to your local charity shop and let them become a much needed part of somebody else’s wardrobe.

Identify key staples
Everybody owns a few wardrobe staples and the key is to identify these so that the next time that you hit the shops and are about to buy something too similar, you won’t waste the cash. Instead you’ll opt for something that complements your staples and increases your outfit opportunities.

Ask a friend
Sometimes it’s really hard to let go of an item that you’ve had for a long time, especially if you’ve never ceased the opportunity to wear it. So, why not seek a friend’s opinion? A good friend will be truly honest and let you know if that sale buy dress makes you look like a sack of potatoes. It may even suit them a lot better than yourself, and it could be a great opportunity to swap a few pieces with them too.

Taking the time to cut down what’s currently inside your wardrobes does also present you with the opportunity to shop a few new season trends. Avoid impulse buys and opt for pieces that you can work into your wardrobes. Otherwise it’ll turn into another wardrobe filler that you’ll never use.

What new season trends are you most excited about? Why not drop us a tweet @Fiorelli_Bags and let us know, we might just be able to show you in the direction of the perfect new year bag!

A new year, A New Year

A New Year is the perfect opportunity to detox, cleanse and start 2015 feeling fresh.

We often put hard, unrealistic targets in place that are easy to give up, so this year the team at Fiorelli are giving you three easy tips to follow for feeling fabulous this year.

WE'RE JUICING

A trend that started in LA and has now crossed the seas to the UK. This is not the 'fad' diet of solely juicing but there's no better way to start your day that that with a 'mean green' - our personal favourite of cucumber, kale, spinach, apple and pear. For those with a sweeter tooth try the 'Big apple' smoothie with apple, pineapple, kiwi, strawberry and cucumber. Juicing is a great way to triple your daily fruit and vegetable intake, plus this gives you a burst of morning energy letting you leave the espresso shot and start the year feeling a fresh.

GET MOVING

Find an exercise that you enjoy, but most importantly makes you feel good. Whether it's cycling to work, yoga classes, running or an intense bootcamp. After over-eating and one too many cocktails this Christmas try a cardio exercise as this will speed up your body's detoxification process. Exercising releases endorphins giving you a 'natural high' - the perfect start for a happy and  healthy New Year.

CONQUER A FEAR

Do something that scares you, test yourself and live a little. Whenever you are presented with a choice, ask yourself which option you would prefer to have taken in ten years. This year have no regret, each day to it's fullest and you will more confident and drive in yourself.

For a guide on a healthy, happy 2015 we have our Fiorelli favourite holistic lifestyle bloggers to follow on Instagram to get you inspired @deliciouslyella for healthy recipes, @calgaryavansino for a guide to ‘living well’, @mind_body_bowl and @fitnessontoast for both a food and fitness kid start.
