#FiorelliTravels: Summer Fun in Menorca!

One of the perks of working at Fiorelli is that we get to test out some of our new season handbags before they even launch, and this week that’s exactly what we've been doing in the sunny Menorca.

Our lovely graphic designer Heather took the Rose clutch away on holiday, which will be available for you to buy later this year. So, consider this an exciting sneak peek!!

They stayed in Santo Tomas, a small peaceful town upon Menorca’s south coast, which is the perfect place for a relaxing yet sun soaked holiday mixed with fun water sport activities from wind surfing to cliff diving.

There’s just one main street close to the beach with a handful of shops and restaurants, and of course, some great tapas bars. If you’re looking for somewhere a little livelier, then, there are a few surrounding towns which you can get to within just 15-20 mins.

It’s a great location to show off your summer wardrobe too, and the bright bold flowery hue of the Rose clutch was perfectly fitting. It’s easy to wear as a statement piece and as it combines so many different colours you’re spoilt for choice outfit wise.

Heather showed her #FiorelliStyle by teaming her clutch with a bright blue summer dress and statement necklace. Creating a statement with accessories is key for summer. If you can’t wait until September to snap up your own Rose clutch, then, why not take a look at our current clutches from the Dixie to the Juliet, we've got your summer style needs covered!

Why not show us your own #FiorelliTravels style with us too on Instagram!

How To: Pack for a Long Haul Summer Holiday

Packing for a long haul holiday can often be tricky, - you want to take an abundance of things with you, (including ten bikinis and matching jewellery for each outfit) but what exactly do you need? Take a look at our holiday essentials that'll help you to leave the kitchen sink at home!

Lay Everything Out on Your Bed
Whilst this may sound pretty straight forward, most of us pack straight into a suitcase - cue the “Uh-uh” buzzer sound.
The problem with packing your clobber straight into a suitcase is that you don’t actually realise exactly what you’re taking, until you unpack your belongings at your far-flung destination. By laying your things out upon your bed, you can see what you've got enough of, what you need more of, and what you need to leave behind.
Fiorelli’s Tip: Avoid packing your spending money. Why? If your luggage goes missing, so does your cash! Why not invest in our Serena Large Zip Around Purse available in caramel, a perfect hue for summer that’s certain to keep your currency safe.

A Scarf Goes a Long Way
A scarf is actually a versatile essential for a summer holiday, and obviously we don’t mean your typical chunky knit, we’re talking about a skinny scarf that you can tie around your waist and use as a makeshift sarong.

A lightweight scarf is perfect for summer styling and will barely take up any space in your bag. Forget packing numerous sarongs, cover-ups and beach hats, a scarf is your solution to all. Fold it in half and wear it as a mini skirt on the beach, and throw it over your shoulders when that scorching sun gets a bit too much for your skin. Take a scarf on your holiday this summer and you’ll wonder how you ever managed without one before.

Fiorelli’s Tip: Conventionally wear it around your neck to the airport and if you’re feeling a bit nippy on the flight, this multi-use beauty will make for a great blanket.

Carry Your On-board Essentials in Style
You’ll no doubt want to over pack for a long haul flight. Why? Nobody wants to be without a book, magazine or iPod for all those hours spent on a plane, plus of course those must-have chewy sweets and packs of chewing gum – there’s nothing worse than your ears endlessly popping! Basically, you need a Mary Poppins bag, perhaps not in looks, but in depth - our Drew Hobo is your answer!

The slouchy shape of this beauty gives this piece of arm candy a chic but casual appearance, making it the ultimate choice for carrying all your necessities. Available in three classic colours; black, tan and grey, this bag will effortlessly go with any ensemble.

Fiorelli’s Tip: Use all the pockets in the bag, that’s what they’re there for! Nothing will go missing in the trusty zip pockets.

Don’t Forget the Essentials
Make a checklist – and stick to it! The last thing you want to do is turn up at the airport without your passport, forget your summer beauty essentials, or arrive at the beach without your sunglasses.

Fiorelli’s Tip: Protect your eyes from UVA and UVB rays with the Fiorelli Bali Sunglasses, available in classic black, red or stylish tortoise shell.

#FiorelliTravels: New York with our Tillie Satchel

This week, we thought that we'd give you another little glimpse into our #FiorelliTravels! Our International Sales Manager Iva headed to the fabulous New York for business, as she popped over for a flying visit to catch up with some of our international distributors. And her Fiorelli arm candy of choice? Our Small Tillie satchel made the perfect travel companion.

Iva kick started each day with a little jog through Central Park, as she was staying at the conveniently located Hudson hotel. If only we could all start our days this way, and of course, we'd also head to our local coffee shop with our group of friends too!

A big part of Iva's trip involved visiting some of New York's most iconic shops to look for possible fits for new collaborations and general handbag trends! Sounds like such a burden, doesn't it?

And believe it or not, although Iva's job involves travelling abroad to visit some of the most iconic department stores around, there's no time to hit the rails and shop for yourself. Well, every dream job has to have its downsides.

Would you love a career that combined handbags and travel? Why not share your dream jobs with us by dropping a comment below or getting in touch with us @Fiorelli_Bags on Twitter?

#FiorelliTravels: Lisa and Sue Head to Japan for Design Inspiration

Our head designer Lisa has been off on her #FiorelliTravels seeking design inspiration once more! Can you believe that she’s already thinking about a collection for Spring/Summer '15?!

This time however, she was joined by our brand manager Sue Tebbitts, beginning their trip in Japan, and then, going on to Hong Kong and ending in China. It’s been quite the trip and as they've got so much to show you, today we’re going to reveal what they discovered in Japan, - and we’ll just have to leave you hanging until next week for the rest!

Inspiration for new designs can be derived from absolutely anywhere, so, when visiting a different country it’s good to see lots of different things from its cultural habits to its fashion scene. So, Lisa and Sue ensured that they completely emerged themselves within Japanese culture, and of course, sampling the local cuisine (including live shrimp!) or checking out traditional Japanese clothing was definitely a must!

Different traditions and beliefs are always interesting to see, such as this Japanese prayer wall which lets people write down their prayers and tie them onto the string.

Naturally, part of Lisa's travels always includes checking out the country's shopping scene. We know, it's a tough part of the job but somebody has to do it! Japan is known for its crazy fashion trends and quirky aesthetics, and nothing quite screams Japan more than this boutique's changing room covered in teddy bears!

Promotional launches always seem to be as flamboyant as possible too! Just look at this pop up display for a new beauty range that Lisa spotted. Would't she look great with a giant Fiorelli handbag upon her arm?!

After a couple of days spent soaking up all of the natural beauty and quirky traits that Japan has to offer, it was time to jet off to Hong Kong...
