Bloggers Style Fiorelli

We've had some fabulous bloggers styling the collection since our last update and we simply had to share these #FiorelliOOTW's featuring our Spring/Summer range!

The lovely xAmeliax styling the Kenzie Tote in Cosmetic pink for Spring/Summer '14 with a gorgeous printed kimono, pastels tones and with a statement necklace to finish the Summer look.

The fabulous Tara from blogging duo, the Style Rawr, took the Perry Shoulder bag to Glastonbury and partnered it with classic nautical stripes, wellies and statement accessories for perfect festival style.

The gorgeous Natasha from Girl in the Lens shared this powder blue inspired outfit with the Perry Shoulder in Pale Sky with quilted detailing. We love the co-ordination of the serene blue tones and of course the beautiful backdrop too!

Styling the Mani Tote is the stunning Sabrina from A Little Obsessed, who is sharing some fabulous holiday snaps with her new Fiorelli across her Instagram channel. We love these neutral tones, with a hint at the metallic trend which we've heard is going to be strong for Autumn/Winter '14.

Make sure to share your #FiorelliStyle with us across Twitter and Instagram, and share your #FiorelliOOTW's to feature on our Facebook album too!

Trend: The Mini Bag

We couldn't help but notice the appearance of a new trend of the Mini Bag here at Fiorelli HQ! With several available in our new collection, we've been styling them for various occasions from a night out to casual weekend style.

For the evenings, we've been sporting the fabulous two-tone neutral Jolie cross body with optional shoulder strap, along with a black jumpsuit and strappy heeled sandals. Finish the look with a gold necklace to match the hardware on the Jolie, our new Tyra necklace with triangle crystal detailing is a gorgeous addition.

For work, look no further than our Hope Tote, available in three colours with proceeds supporting Cancer Research UK. We've picked the white to work perfectly with a printed dress, textured jumper and block heel.

For the weekend the Harper Mini is the perfect bag to add to any outfit. With detachable shoulder strap, it's multifunctional and has several internal compartments to keep organised. Add to simple separates, and everyday sandals finish the look.

Which is your favourite mini bag for the new range? Let us know by leaving a comment below or via Twitter @Fiorelli_Bags.

Fiorelli Summer Favourite: The Harper Mini

Finding the perfect summer style is all about options. With the sun starting to make an appearance, it's time to refresh your wardrobe with a new companion to complete any outfit.

The Harper Mini grab is the all round ideal bag for those sunny days ahead, whether you're at work, in the bar or at the park, there is a style for all occasions. Below are some of our favourites, courtesy of our fabulous #FiorelliStyle fans.

Colour blocking has been a continuous trend but this season it is updated with pastel tones - by combining several softer colour palettes you're guaranteed to have an outfit that stands out from the crowd. Thanks @Laurakate77 for sharing you Harper Mini in Cornflower Blue with us.

Summer is the perfect time to feel young at heart, so have some fun with your favourite outfit. This #OOTD by @Karingchy is the perfect combination of playful and sophisticated. The Mini Harper in Sherbert Lemon adds gentle colour to any look - letting you wear more neutral tones and still feel summery.

Travelling this summer? Take a tip from @low_xx and embrace stripes. Get the Riviera look with our Mini Harper in Nautical Stripe. Perfect for adding adventure to an outfit whilst still staying tasteful, this bag is always welcome onboard.

Not always the obvious Spring/Summer choice, but the Harper Mini in Mono is a classic wardrobe staple. @Nikita_Jade1 uses hers for an elegant summer look to travel with, all the while being petite enough to accompany you anywhere you go.

For a glamourous accessory this summer look no further. Soft and subtle, taking on this seasons must-have pastel tones, the Harper Mini in Pale Sky puts sophisticated summer style into any outfit. Thanks for sharing this beautiful Fiorelli moment with us @Jodiemariestringer.

Handbag Faux Pas and Other Fashion No-no's

As much as we like to think we’ve got the fashion game covered, there are always a few exceptions which manage to slip through the net. From the infamous socks and sandals combo to the dreaded bum bag, let’s take a look at some of the most common fashion faux pas for women.
Bum Bags
The 90’s brought us many great things; Destiny’s Child, plaid printed skirts and high-waisted jeans are all notable highlights. On the other hand, the 90’s also brought windbreakers, bandannas and the holy grail of fashion no no’s- bum bags -to the world of fashion.
From middle-aged hikers to young adult ravers, bum bags became the marmite accessory which divided the nation. And although the noughties drove them away, those insufferable bum bags have come back with a vengeance as festival fever sweeps across the UK.
They might be hands-free, they might be good enough for Rihanna and they might come in handy when you’re trekking up the Himalayas, but they don’t half look ugly. Get the fashion police on patrol; we appear to have an infestation on our hands!
Socks with Sandals
There are very few people in the world who would disagree with the opinion that socks and sandals are the worst fashion faux pas on the planet.
From Hawaiian shirted tourists sporting the dreadful combo to the usually demure Olsen twins rocking up at the airport complete with matching sandals and socks- is there any way to pull off this look? We think not.
Velour
Far be it from us to discourage loungewear when at home, relaxing or in-between getting ready for a night out, but wearing it out for the day is an entirely different matter. Add a shiny, garish material known as velour to the mix and it’s a recipe for disaster.
Nonetheless everyone from Vanessa Hudgens to Paris Hilton has been spotted wearing the tracksuit. From the LA sidewalk to serious shopping trips it seems that for some women, the velour tracksuit is a much loved outfit.
Have you got any more faux pas to add to our list? Perhaps you’ve got a guilty fashion pleasure of your own that you’d be willing to share? Tweet us your biggest fashion no no’s @Fiorelli_Bags or drop us a comment below.

#FiorelliTravels: Brand Manager Sue Heads to Barcelona!

Last week, our Brand Manager Sue Tebbitts seized the opportunity of a long bank holiday weekend and headed over to the beautiful Barcelona for a couple of days, with some of your Fiorelli favourites in tow! Opting for the Kenzie tote in Summer Mix as to explore during the day, and switching to the Dixie Clutch (with optional shoulder strap) in Limeade for the evenings, she just couldn't wait to share her #FiorelliTravels with you!

Barcelona is the ultimate destination for the culture vulture, and has so many must see sights that you'll be spoilt for choice! No visit to Barcelona is complete without a trip to see the amazing Gaudi designed La Pedera, and our roomy Kenzie tote was the perfect sightseeing companion with plenty of space for all of our essentials. Kenzie bag selfie anyone?!

Barcelona is also home to Europe's largest football stadium Camp Nou, home to FC Barcelona, and it seats up to 100, 000 people! It's definitely worth a visit if you're a football fan, or if not, it's just amazing to go along and see how big it is.

Like in all cities, there are always several opportunities to go up high and view its great landscape and architecture from a height. The above was taken from the comfort of a cable car that offered amazing views of Barcelona.

Sampling the local cuisine is always a must too, and Barcelona boasts some of the best tapas bars in the world, and it's safe to say that you also have to eat your fair share of delicious Iberico ham whilst here! We also stumbled upon a rather unexpected sweet haven in the Las Ramblas area with rows and rows of every kind of sweet imaginable. Heaven!

As the day dawns, the Dixie clutch replaces the Kenzie tote and brightens up the Place de Catalunya with its bright limeade hue! Some of the cities most important streets meet at this point, and it's full of lots of cafés and restaurants to choose from.

#AskFiorelli's first ever Twitter Q&A with Head Designer Lisa!

“Fiorelli literally means little flower, it's about making women feel special and confident”

This week we held our very first Twitter Q&A, #AskFiorelli , with our Head Designer, Lisa.

We opened up our design studio doors, whilst shooting our SS14 collection, to answer all your questions about working in the industry, the latest trends, inspiration and design philosophy behind Fiorelli products and the Fiorelli brand story.

As the top creative mind at Fiorelli, Lisa has been with Fiorelli with 15 years, travelling to the world’s fashion capitals for inspiration to ensure we produce a stunning collection of must-have, on trend handbags, that you love each season.

If you missed our Q&A, don’t panic, we have a summary below. Keep an eye out for our next Fiorelli Q&A where we will be covering our AW13 range #AskFiorelli.

@RachelFarshi: What was your inspiration behind the SS13 collection?

Our SS14 collection is a strong mix; with monochrome playing a huge role with clean & function.

@KatieFinger1: Happy birthday @Fiorelli_Bags!! What's your favourite bag from all the designs ever made?

I love the Electra East/West grab bag. I got really excited about our lizard print drawstring bag 5 years ago!

@SusannahMaze: Would you ever team up with a Celebrity for a new range?

This is definitely something I'd love to do. I love Sienna Miller, she has understated British style.

@Tashnineberg: What is your must have accessory this summer?

Would be the Harper bag & Deva bag from our SS14 range. They're great bags, bold in colour for day & evening style.

@TheResourceList: Love the story about a Fiorelli bag lasting 7 years lost in a bush! Durable quality VS quick trends - your thoughts?

We ensure that there is durability in the core design of the bags and add colours and prints to stay on-trend.

@TollDollyPosh: Would you ever collaborate with an emerging designer and create a range?

I'd love to work with an emerging print designer like Jonathan Saunders. I love his signature ombre dot print!

@TollyDollyPosh: If you had to choose a bag which had ‘you’ in it, which would it be?

It would be our everyday Hobo bags. I love their shape and ease for every day style.

@SocialBeautify: Which bag is the most iconic design that is modified and released in different variations season after season?

The Lucinda bag is our best seller. For SS14 the Harper will be the new iconic bag.

@TollyDollyPosh: what inspires you most when you design a new bag?

My starting points is always colour and materials - this then tends to pull together the design.

@Fiona149Turner: What are the bag trends for the coming season?

For AW13 we're looking at wide shoppers and bowling bags in moody colours like violet, teal and red.

@SocialBeautify: Who would you say is a Fiorelli woman? Who do you have in mind when designing a new collection?

She wants an everyday bag that makes her feel good. I'm inspired by all the ladies I see toting Fiorelli bags.

@TollyDollyPosh: Do you have a target for what you are trying to put across? What is the meaning of Fiorelli Bags?

Fiorelli literally means little flower, it's about making women feel special and confident.

@TollyDollyPosh: What made you want to do fashion? What inspired you? Why did you think it would be a good idea?

My dad's an artist so I grew up with design. At art college I saw fashion & textiles as the direction for me.

@TheFashionNetUK: Whats the best piece of advice you've been given that you would pass on to aspiring designers?

Be prepared to work hard and don't be afraid to be yourself, let your true colours show.

@TollyDollyPosh: What would make a designer stand out for you?

I think the main qualities to look for in an emerging designer are an eye for detail & bags of enthusiasm.

@Pink_syd: Do you have a favourite season to design for?

I love designing for winter so you can play more with metallics, faux fur and faux animal skins.

@Iamnrc: What’s the best way to store handbags?

Keep them in a storage box away from light to avoid discolouration. It's good to keep them stuffed to keep their shape.

Introducing AW11

Introducing Fiorelli’s AW11 collection. Delivering designs that are focused on this season’s must have trends, the latest offering from Fiorelli is a must have this season.

Designs focus on the essential qualities to bring organised, allocated space into your accessories. A rich colour palette of earthy hues, combine the warmth of oxblood and tan with the depth of navy. Colour blocking of neutral shades softens the tone and lightens the collection. ‘Floris’ uses colour blocking to its full extent with neutral panels standing as a back drop to make the darker angles more prominent.

Floris Black and White mix - £79

Floris Chocolate mix - £79

The multifunctional components of the collection are designed to be rearranged and reassembled. The use of detachable shoulder straps turn functional cross bodies into statement grabs. Hidden and zipped pockets effectively work along side inside & outside pockets; while large compacted compartments utilise your accessory to keep you organised within your own space. ‘Angelo’ uses organised clean cut lines to sustain its functional beauty; structured large compartments hold the strong shape while the interior sees space for zipped and open pockets. ‘Bartolozzi’ constructs frame work alternatively by edging the centre of the outside pockets with metal hardware.

Angelo in Navy £89

Bartolozzi in Natural £69

Luxurious fur finishes are teamed with opulent hardware giving the collection a coveted place in this season’s texture trend. Simple structure and statement zips give the ‘Turner’ large grab a fashionable edge that will sit perfectly in the workplace or casually during the day.

Rich, jewel tones shine through the ‘Kono’ collection, adding a eye-popping addition to the collection.

Kono in Orange £45
Luxe beading and sequin details, seen in ‘Rosa’, ‘Bojangles’ and ‘Twilight’  add a high gloss finish which will outshine all other accessories in the lead up to the party season.

Behind The Scenes of the Winter 2011 Shoot

'Turner'
As our glamorous winter collection launches, we thought we would treat you to an exclusive look at our amazing photo shoot! Way back in March we packed up our favourite samples from the collection and made our way to the top of the Central Line to Essex!
'Blake'
After a short taxi ride, we were greeted by an astonishingly beautiful house, set in stunning grounds. As we drove closer to the house it became apparent that despite its grand exterior, it was in fact, in a state of disrepair. Built in 1750, within 3000 acres of land, the house was one of the finest of its time, hosting many a grand party and sleeping some of the wealthiest people in the country. We can only begin to imagine some of the riches those walls have seen! Devastatingly, the house was destroyed by a fire in 1917, leaving it unoccupied since then. The story behind this amazing set worked perfectly with the theme of our shoot, which encompassed the story of a downtrodden countess, who, having lived a life of luxury, suddenly finds herself in a situation without her riches. Unable to let go of her past life, she now encompasses a life of rich vs. poor, and carries a downtrodden-glamour look of luxury dresses teamed with casual tweed jackets.

The final touches are made before we start the shoot

Bling-tastic!

This look of casual vs. luxe supported our new collection of bags perfectly; rich fur detailing and oversized gems adorning casual every day shapes alongside simple, vintage inspired shapes.
After hair and makeup were completed (in a freezing room in the old house!), we went exploring the grounds to find the perfect setting for our different shots. It’s fair to say we were spoilt for choice! The mature grounds set the scene perfectly, hinting at a gloomy secret garden atmosphere.

The staff at the house were a definite highlight of the day. Not only did they give us a full tour of the house and grounds, they also treated us to delicious food and drink, even bringing us afternoon tea in a wheelbarrow!

Who's for cake?

The Crew!
We are so pleased with this shoot, it really compliments our winter collection, and we couldn’t be happier with the outcome!
