stuck into while you sip Mojitos by the water. So, get your poolside library sorted
with Fiorelli’s holiday reading recommendations.
The Beach – Alex Garland
We can all relate to
wanderlust, the thirst for adventure and the unknown. And this overwhelming
desire to pick up your bags and head to an unknown paradise has never been
captured so well as in Alex Garland’s 1996 novel The Beach.
You’re probably
already familiar with the 2000 film version featuring a handsome and young Di
Caprio and this beautifully written book will have you reaching for your
Skyscanner app to start planning your next adventure. A classic tale of
paradise lost and found that ticks all the holiday reading boxes.
Anybody Out There – Marian Keyes
This is one of the best books to read on holiday, nobody
manages to craft characters quite like Marian Keyes. In Anybody Out There we meet Anna Walsh, a woman plagued by bad luck
and misfortune. Pining for her glittery life back in Manhattan, we learn about
Anna and her ex-lover through her memories of cosmopolitan New York.
Mysterious, emotional and laugh out loud funny in equal
measures, you won’t want to put this book down.
In Her Shoes –
Jennifer Weiner
Later made into a hit film featuring none other than the
glamorous Cameron Diaz, In Her Shoes
is a New York Times bestseller about sisterhood. The plot revolves around the
unlikely pairing of two seemingly opposite women who eventually bond over
romance and shoes. It’s a laugh out loud tale which will complement the Vitamin
D induced happiness you get on holiday.
#4 D.V by Diana Vreeland
If you’re obsessed
with all things fashion then consider D.V an essential read. Written by
previous Vogue editor-in-chief and all round style icon Diana Vreeland, this
autobiography is filled with glittery tales about Vreeland’s childhood in Paris,
young adult life in England and glamorous reign as editor of Vogue and Harper’s
Bazaar in New York City.
Filled with
brilliantly candid quotes such as “I’ve always been mad about clothes- you
don’t get born in Paris to forget about clothes for 1 minute” fellow fashion
addicts will fall in love this book.
