Get the Look: Millie Mackintosh

If there’s one fashionista we can’t get enough of its MIC star Millie Mackintosh. When she isn’t channelling beach babe on hols with Professor Green she’s rocking a fedora and skinnies on the streets of London. And Mackintosh isn’t just stylish when out and about; her love of looking good extends to covetable gym wear too! What a woman.

Join us as we admire some of Mackintosh’s best outfits and give our own two pennies worth on how we’d work the look.

Summer in the City

Perhaps we’re a bit optimistic with this one, but we’re still holding out hope that Mr Sunshine will return us to bare legged bliss. In the event of an Indian summer we’ll be following in Millie’s footsteps with a two tone dress and heeled sandals. We love the simplicity of this outfit and the lace trim hemline is ultra-feminine.

Garnish the outfit with the Fiorelli Nova Tote in tan and tortoiseshell sun specs. Ta-da!

Monochrome Glam

Monochrome is one of the easiest trends to pull off and executed right can look flawless. Here Mackintosh brings a touch of elegance to the humble jumpsuit with a blazer and heels adding height and structure to the outfit. A statement fedora and croc effect clutch complete the ensemble well- it’s both a chic and androgynous look.

Want to follow in Mills footsteps? We suggest updating the look with our red Layla satchel for an eye-catching pop of colour. If you’re not sold on the idea of wearing a jumpsuit you could just as well champion the look with a white maxi and black accessories. Sophisticated and easy to achieve, it’s the perfect summer to autumn transition.

Jaw Dropping Gym Wear

Most of us wouldn’t be caught dead posing for photos post gym sweat sesh, but even when she’s working out Mackintosh is on top of her style game. Looking effortlessly glam in a black unitard, aviator sunglasses and matching black trainers with pink laces, we’re vowing to take a leaf out of her book and get co-ordinated for A/W.

Farewell neon trainers and baggy t-shirts, it’s time to up the ante with matchy-matchy trainers and gym wear. Eat your heart out, Mackers.

Carnival Style | Dress To Survive

Each year Notting Hill carnival gives us an opportunity to celebrate the culture, food and music of the Caribbean right here in London. Not to mention the exciting mix of people and style. If you’re heading down to Notting Hill this year then here are some tips for surviving the chaos, staying comfortable and looking good.

The key to having a great time is comfort, fabulously comfortable! Look good but feel better; hours of walking and dancing require meticulously planned outfits. Stay on trend with a pair of high waisted denim shorts, trainers and a brightly coloured kimono. Opt for this seasons must have in our gorgeous Lexi packpack available in two colours. Keep your valuables safe and hands free with a top zip closure, front and back pockets  and adjustable shoulder straps.  Alternatively, complete your look with our classic Tessa crossbody bag and have easy access to your money with its front purse like pocket.
Now that you’re dressed for the occasion, remember to stay in groups or at least in a pair, and stay hydrated. Keep a bottle of water with you at all time and finally, let your hair down and have fun!

If hours of walking isn’t your thing, then swap your trainers for a pair of high heels and turn your daytime look into a night time carnival after-party ready outfit and complete your look with our Rose Frame Clutch.

#FiorelliTravels: The Mia Heads to Lulworth

This week upon our #FiorelliTravels our graphic designer and bride to be Heather is on the hunt for her perfect wedding location. Last weekend she visited Lulworth along the Dorset coast to visit a potential venue, and found the area so beautiful that she couldn't wait to share it with you upon the blog!

Her first stop was the magnificent Lulworth castle which has been around since the 17th Century. Although it’s now largely a tourist attraction, it also plays host to numerous wedding receptions each year, with churches just a stone’s throw away.

It’s also possible to climb to the very top of its tower too, which boasts great views. For Heather’s visit, she took along her Mia intan and teamed it with a summery orange dress and blazer.

After exploring the castle and its grounds, it was time to venture a little further into its surroundings, and just to make those wedding snaps a little more picturesque, the beautiful Lulworth cove with its Durdle Door and Man O war beaches.

Some of its beaches are only accessible via a steep path too but they’re definitely worth the effort. And you’ve guessed it, Heather couldn’t resist but take the Mia along for a bit of a climb around the rocks, and there could never be a better time than this to add on its detachable crossbody strap. It’s not for the faint hearted, and sturdy shoes are a definite must too! It was time to switch to the trainers.

So, what do you think of Lulworth as a wedding location? Why not drop us a comment below? And don’t forget to tag us in your own #FiorelliTravels too @ Fiorelli_Bags on Twitter or @fiorelli_bags on Instagram.

Jetting Off in Style: Fiorelli’s Airport Outfit Tips

Holiday style is always a hot topic, but what about when it comes to travelling to your destination? From the departure lounge to the runway, fly through the clouds fashionably with the help of Fiorelli.

Unsociable travelling times are the main reason why so many of us abandon style credentials when flying. If you have to be up at silly o’clock to catch a flight, looking chic is apt to be the last thing on your mind but that doesn't mean you have to rock up in linen trousers and a hoodie! Plan your ensemble the night before so that you can just throw on and go. Capri pants and oversized sunglasses are comfortable, easy to style and ideal for travelling at night.

Celebrity Airport Style

Jetting off amidst the rush hour pandemonium? Make like Millie Mackintosh and get glam. The Made in Chelsea star manages to nail runway style in a fabulous monochrome ensemble (pictured above) and looks effortlessly stylish. For warmer climates opt for Reese Witherspoon’s smart / casual approach with glitzy sandals, a lightweight vest and floral trousers.

Shoes and Handbags - Every Woman’s Best Friend

When it comes to celebrity airport style; black on black seems to be a recurring theme. And it seems nobody can pull off the look as effortlessly as the Olsen twins do. Often papped at the airport, the American fashion duo love to dress head to toe in black with statement shoes and handbags as the focal point of their look.

Channelling the Olsen twin’s airport style couldn't be simpler; choose a head turning handbag, killer pair of shoes and keep the rest of your outfit simple with a black overcoat and skinny jeans. The Fiorelli Nova tote is a great hand luggage choice- featuring a spacious main compartment and a separate section for duty-free purchases or reading material, it’s all you need for a fuss-free travel experience.

As for your feet, if you’re heading on a long haul flight choose sensible footwear such as Birkenstocks which are light yet super on-trend. If you’re looking for something with a little more height mid-heel Chelsea boots or loafers are also strong choices and will keep you looking smart from take-off to landing.

Do you have any airport style tips you’d like to share with us? Drop us a comment below or tweet us @Fiorelli_Bags.

Fiorelli’s British Summer Events Bucket List

With the close of summer fast approaching (sob, sob) we’re eager to pack in as many events as possible. From fancy food to art extravaganzas, make the most of the outdoors this August.
Bank Holiday Bites: Jamie’s Big Feastival

Dining al fresco is one of the very best things about summer. Add a line-up of top celebrity chefs and the word ‘festival’ to the equation and you’ve got yourself one amazing weekend. Helmed by Jamie Oliver himself, The Big Feastival is a celebration of irresistible food which covers everything from Japanese tonkatsu to Latin American burritos.
Watch television chefs Gizzi Erskine and Rachel Khoo whip up pastries in front of your eyes, shop for goodies at the illustrious food and drink markets and enjoy live music performances from Kelis and Fatboy Slim. Adult day tickets are priced at just £32, making this Oxfordshire festival a tempting bank holiday weekend option.
Culture Vulture: Edinburgh International Festival

The Edinburgh International Festival is one of those heritage British events you just have to experience. The city itself is steeped in history and boasts some of the most beautiful architecture in the UK. Sip cocktails at stylish bistro Whiski, view the city from upside down at the outlandish Camera Obscura attraction and sample haggis, neeps and tatties at a local restaurant.
Visiting during the festival season ensures an electric atmosphere at every turn and whether you’re a fan of contemporary dance, laugh out loud comedy or independent theatre you’ll find it all at this accommodating festival.
Royal Academy Summer Exhibition

You might have to hurry to catch this one as it’s been running since the beginning of June. The Royal Academy’s Summer Exhibition is the largest open submission art show in the world and it’s about to end.
Don’t know your Picasso from your Rembrandt? It doesn’t matter. Seasoned art lovers and novices will both find something to admire at this large scale exhibition. For over 250 years new artists and big names have each been submitting work to the RA and the sheer variety of innovative work is what keeps the event a success. Catch the highlight of the cultural calendar at Burlington House before it closes on the 17th.

#FiorelliTravels: The Isle of Wight with Layla

For this week’s #FiorelliTravels, we’re following our stylish Layla satchel to the beautiful Isle of Wight!

We loved visiting the Isle of Wight, and one of the things that it’s famed for is its glorious award winning beaches, which we had to explore!

We were happy just taking plenty of beautiful photos of the ocean, as its coast line really is beautiful! We decided to charter a boat in order to thoroughly enjoy it, which is really popular amongst visitors. - Just look at the number of boats dotted around!

If you’re feeling more daring, it also boasts lots of adventure activities to choose from too such as paragliding or rock climbing.

We can imagine that you love shopping just as much as we do, so, you’ll be happy to hear that it's easy to get your shopping fix thanks to its many shops. There are even plenty of unique arts and crafts boutiques to explore too thanks to its heritage.

We couldn't resist taking a bag selfie of our Layla satchel on the sea rocks either! Doesn't it make a pretty picture?!

Where are you taking your Fiorelli handbags this summer? Don’t forget to tag us in your photos @Fiorelli_Bags on Instagram to share your #FiorelliTravels with us.

Trend: The Mini Bag

We couldn't help but notice the appearance of a new trend of the Mini Bag here at Fiorelli HQ! With several available in our new collection, we've been styling them for various occasions from a night out to casual weekend style.

For the evenings, we've been sporting the fabulous two-tone neutral Jolie cross body with optional shoulder strap, along with a black jumpsuit and strappy heeled sandals. Finish the look with a gold necklace to match the hardware on the Jolie, our new Tyra necklace with triangle crystal detailing is a gorgeous addition.

For work, look no further than our Hope Tote, available in three colours with proceeds supporting Cancer Research UK. We've picked the white to work perfectly with a printed dress, textured jumper and block heel.

For the weekend the Harper Mini is the perfect bag to add to any outfit. With detachable shoulder strap, it's multifunctional and has several internal compartments to keep organised. Add to simple separates, and everyday sandals finish the look.

The Easy Summer Cocktails you HAVE to Try

From weekend exploring to dining al fresco, everything is so much better in the summer. So, invite your friends over and try your hand at making these easy summer cocktails! It’s the summer edition of Fiorelli’s favourite cocktails.

Sweet and Sour Cherry Fizzers

Cherries are so rich and delicious, but they’re tricky to get hold of during the colder months of the year. That’s why when summer rolls around we like to have a stash of them to enjoy in puddings, salads and of course, drinks. They look so stylish perched on the top of a glass, too.

This cherry-infused cocktail is so refreshing and the lemon gives the drink a kick of bitterness. Serve with black forest mini puddings and slow roast tomato tatins.

Ingredients:
-2 vodka shots
-1 squeeze of lemon
-Cherry syrup
-Soda water
-Fresh basil garnish
-Jam Jars
-Ice

Method:
Place a couple of ice-cubes in the jam jar and add the vodka, lemon juice and cherry syrup. If you can’t get hold of cherry syrup you can just crush up a bunch of cherries with a mortar and pestle or blitz them in a food processor and add to the drink. Fill the glass with soda water and arrange a lemon wedge, basil leaf and cherry on top for effect. Voila!

Watermelon Coolers

Watermelon is the perfect summer fruit; it’s packed with antioxidants, keeps you hydrated and looks amazing too. This cocktail is ideal for the health conscious drinkers out there and you could even omit the alcohol if you feel like being extra good. The mixture of lime, honey and mint juxtaposed with subtle watermelon gives the summer drink a tangy zest. It’s impossible to just have one.

Ingredients:
- Mint sprigs
- 12 watermelon cubes
- 1 tbsp Honey
- 1 Lime
- 1 shot of gin
- Cucumber garnish
- Ice

Method:
Blitz the watermelon cubes in a blender and transfer to a large jug. Squeeze in a large tablespoon of honey, the juice of a lime and a good handful of fresh mint. Add as much gin as you desire and garnish with cucumber. Serve with ice. Summer in a glass.

We’d love to know your thoughts on the most refreshing summer drinks out there. Share your favourite summertime tipple with us by leaving us a comment below or tweeting us @Fiorelli_Bags.
